“If you love Me, keep My commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.  But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."  --  John 14

The wonderful promises from Jesus the night before He was to be crucified are wonderful and absolutely unique!
There is no other major religion that teaches a doctrine comparable to what Christianity offers in the “doctrine of the Holy Spirit.”
Every other religion resorts to “the human ability” to perform good works instead of the abiding Holy Spirit who enables the individual to live a righteous life.
In the passage of Scripture read earlier, Jesus mentions the Holy Spirit many times.
Jesus was telling His disciples that He would be departing, but that He would NOT leave them as “orphans.”
Jesus earthly ministry was only 3 years, but the ministry of the Holy Spirit would remain with them forever!

Jesus called the Holy Spirit:
·       “The Helper” through times of fear, persecution, weakness and the pressures of life.
·       “The Spirit of Truth” through times of confusion, doubt, self-examination and doctrinal truth.
·       “The Comforter” through times of loneliness, sorrow, failure and disturbances.
Does that sound good to you?
There may be some here today who are not sure they have the Holy Spirit abiding in them.
You believe the Gospel of Christ, but you cannot detect anything supernatural.
If there is a doubt that you have been possessed by the Spirit of God, settle the matter once and for all by getting alone with the Lord and asking for the Holy Spirit to fill you with His fulness.  Jesus said, "If we, being evil, know how to give gifts to our children, how much more will the Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask?"

The long awaited approval to retrofit the barns for church ministry has come.  The arduous process of working through the negotiations with the township zoning board is quite an education to say the least.  I had to remind myself many times that, “the battle belongs to the Lord.”  Paul said in 1 Cor. 15:58 – “Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
Saturday (April 30th  at noon) we dedicated this beautiful property to Jesus Christ, and for Him it shall be used!  We had about 30 people turn out for the work morning and dedication.  We also enjoyed a great lunch and time of fellowship.
Above all, let us always remember that the Lord is longing for all of us to re-dedicate ourselves to Him and to the work of the ministry.  We are not to consider ourselves as volunteers for the Lord calls those who are duty bound. He has great plans for our church and everyone who belongs to it.  Rom. 12:1 – “I beseech you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, that you present yourselves as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”  As we dedicate our church property to God, let us also dedicate ourselves and our families to the One who has blessed us abundantly!

The new church property on which we live seems as if it is about to burst forth with all sorts of spring blossoms of abundant colors and new life that we have not yet witnessed.  Before long, this campus will begin to appear as a park, yearning to boast of its beauty!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all of God’s people would have the same mind and heart craving; to bloom and bear much fruit for the Lord?  Jesus said, “Abide in Me and I in you and you shall bear much fruit and your fruit will remain.”  As I have said before, “We are a variety flowers in the garden of God.”
More than attracting hungry and thirsty souls to our property because of its beauty, it is our prayer that seekers would first and foremost be fascinated by the glow on the faces of our members, and experience the love of God for them no matter what tarnished background others may bring with them.  The Lord is the Gardener and He is able to provide “streams in the desert.”

As the Church of Christ experiences some of the most challenging days of its existence, we need to remind each other,
·       That it is Jesus Christ  who is the Head!
·       He is the One who will be magnified, worshiped and adored!
·       “He is able to do…!”
“He alone is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!”
·       Only Jesus can turn the sinner into a saint!
·       Only Jesus can save a marriage from destruction!
·       Only Jesus can satisfy the longings of the soul!
·       Only Jesus can forgive our awful sins, deliver us from guilt and give us peace of mind and heart!
Jesus Christ is God’s “EVERYTHING” for our NOTHING!
Remember,  We all have a great need for Christ;  and we also have a great Christ for our need!
·       In His LIFE, we have the great example in showing us how to live!
·       In His DEATH, we have the great example in showing us how to die to self!
·       In His RESURRECTION, we have the great Conqueror, giving us victory over the grave!
·       In His ASCENSION, the great King, who has gone to prepare His Kingdom!
·       In His INTERCESSION, we have the Great High Priest, who ever lives to plead our case at the Father’s right hand!
·       In His RETURN, we have the great Groom who will come to take His Bride away!
This is why Isaiah could truthfully call Him, “Wonderful, Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace!”
What was it that gave Jesus such an “electric affect” on the people during His earthly pilgrimage that continues to this day?
What is it that shatters the darkness or blindness that is found in every nation, among every race and in every culture we may be sent to?
It is the Truth about Jesus Christ!
